In late January, OOIDA Executive Vice President Lewie Pugh visited Washington DC to meet with dozens of lawmakers and other federal officials. OOIDA’s meetings focused on critical issues like truck parking, restroom access, and speed limiters. Pugh spoke with Members of Congress about what needs to be fixed within the trucking industry and why small-business trucking is so important for the economy.
“Truckers are vital, vital, vital people,” said Lewie Pugh, executive vice president of the Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association. “They’re not these bad guys running up and down the road in these massive trucks trying to run people over and all this craziness. They’re just good, family, hardworking people.”
